How can i get my ultra violet red out of my hair?

i've dyed my hair a redy colour and it's faded so i want to dye it back brown, what dooo i do? im also getting hair extentions and they are lighter colour but will dye them whe i get my hair colour brown. then dye it all the same colour when they in? good idea?
