I was just wondering, i just bought a straightener today, and i don't know how to use it. My friend said to be careful because it can burn your hair, how do i avoid it from burning my hair? She also razored my hair, so what else do i do to get my hair like that in the photo? it seems to have volume, and the chopyy layers, i want to make them more apparent, do i use wax?How to use a hair straightener?
when you straighten your hair, usually to achieve that hairstyle you have to straighten your hair really hard. sometimes you could use hairspray and then straighten it because it stays.

there are only a few ways to avoid burning your hair, because it's going to burn no matter what.

you could use CHI silk infusion, it's available at any local cvs or walgreens and you can just put some in before you straighten your hair and it makes it less vulnerable to burnHow to use a hair straightener?
make sure your hair is completely dry!

spray hair spray on it

in little sections place the hair straightener on from the roots and pull down gently but quickly

u can pull them straight out n spray them

u can tease ur head

honestly just learn the basics then play around with it for awhile

i hope this helps
Well the first thing when you straighten your hair is to make sure that you have a good anti-frizz protector. I use Garnier Fructis Anit-Frizz Sleek and Shine, it makes your hair really soft, and protects it from the heat. From both the straightener and the outside heat. It works really well.

Another thing is you have to watch your hands, cause it hurts when you burn em.

Then another thing with layers is you gotta be sure to let your hair rest. And give it a break, maybe go natural for a day or two. Cause with layers, if you don't have the straightening serum, you can totally torch your hair all the way up to your scalp.

Another thing is to have good shampoo and conditioner. Something with moisture rerenewalI use Pantine Moisture ReRenewal((sp?) Anyways, as long as you have good shampoo and conditioner, and let your hair rest a couple times a week, then you should be fine!
