How to take care of Hair Extensions?

I am getting real hair, hair extensions in a week, and was wondering what is the best shampoo and conditioner to use on them?

My sister had said mild, and that's what she used but hers are so badly dry-ed out and I don't want that to happen to mine.

So if you have them or had them or whatever, let me know whats the best product to use on my real hair, hair extensions.

Hello Hun :)

I have extenstions and i would not advise washing them all the time .. only when you really really need to as the extentions dont have any oils as your normal hair would so washing them would take out whatever was left in the hair leaving it to be dry .. and they wouldn't get as dirty as your normal hair .. so only wash them when really needed !!:) and brush them from the bottom up to reduce the hair from coming out .. my first pair of extentions i ruined from constant washing but my pair now i have them 7 ,8 months and there still shiny and healty ...

Oh and when your washing them (when you need to) i dont use shampoo... just soak them in water and leave some conditioner on them for about half an hour then wash and blowdry :) hope ive helped and goodluck with your extentionsHow to take care of Hair Extensions?

and for shampoo and conditioner i use te Aussie miricle moist %26amp; do a treatment on them every 2 weeks! %26amp; i use the aussie 3min miricle colour treatment. and for heat protector i use the dual personality spary, also by Aussie. and if you want a good leave in treatment, the Aussie leave in miricle colour insurence is amazing! i find all aussie produts are great on natural and hair exensions, they arn too heavy and when you hair extnsions are dry the moisture one is perfect to revive them!

i have had the same set of hair extensions for about 16 months now and they're still in great coniditon and i use all of those products, and i wear them every day and usually use heat on them every day.

try washing them every week or 2 weeks depending on how often you wear them and how much heat you use on them!

hope this helps, the videos are really good :)
