How should I have my hair for a Summer Ball if I'm wearing a strapless bright pink dress?

I have long brunette hair which is naturally fairly straight.. and i would feel comfortable just having it down and straightened. But is this too boring? Im not very good at styling my hair so if there was another option it would have to be fairly easy to do.. any ideas for an ammuture in hair styling?? I wish i could do something fancy with it but i am tempted to just opt for the easy way out! helpppp please :)
